Hello, my dear students, I hope you have had a great time being with your family at home and taking care of yourself. I know this pandemic had changed the way we were doing all things, but I trust in God that after it gets over we will have the opportunity to see all the people around us that are really important in our lives.

I want to tell you that I really miss our sessions and the time for sharing ideas, experiences, and knowledge.  Since we are starting our classes I want to share with you the class methodology and the rules for this new adventure.

We will have 3 synchronous meetings in ZOOM and 3


Monday: 10:50-11:40: Welcome and Methodology socialization.
Tuesday: 9:00- 9:40: Review Time.
Friday: 9:00- 9:40: Feedback Time.

Also, we will have asynchronous meetings in which you as a student should devote time to activities assigned by the teacher related to the topics explained in the first hour.

1. Review time: Ss should work with the teacher in some exercises about relative clauses, used to, didn't use to wrap up this topic. Also, Ss will work on their books in page 45. Doubts will be clarified during the activity development.

Steps to create the story:
1. Brainstorming about the ideas for the story.
2. Choose the pictures that may be part of your story.

5. In the case, you can not finish it, upload the draft to google drive and take your time at home. Remember to use your own words, be careful with plagiarism.

Write an opinion essay about in which you stay your point of view of the current situation we are living nowadays because of the pandemic. You should include the grammar studied in units 3 and 4 (relatives clauses, used to, intensifiers, and first conditional).

-The class will work on the listening activity of page 77 point 1.

Synchronous Meeting #1:

Ss will hold the project’s presentation. Each group will have the opportunity to share their experiences about how to be a responsible tourist. They will share the recommendations/ suggestions when visiting a place. The presentations will be hold during the 2 hours of classes.

Asynchronous Meeting #1:

 Ss continue with the project presentation. After each group had shared their experiences the Tch will provide general feedback and will share any further suggestions in terms of the pragmatic and communicative competences.


Synchronous Meeting #2:

The class will review the content and vocabulary regarding unit 6. Ss should work on their workbook pages 41, point 1, and pg. 42 point 3.

Asynchronous Meeting #2:

Ss will work on some assessment exercises in Educa Platform (Grammar and Listening unit 5) with the purpose of reinforcing these skills.

The ones who do not have the platform should work on a different link and upload the evidence to Google Drive.

Tch. will provide the vocabulary related to the reading that will be hold during the session. Nutrition Facts Reading Comprehension, Ss will have 10 minutes to look for it and clarify any doubt they may have regarding it.

-   The class will start the reading task, they have to compare the nutritional value of the four items and respond to the questions

 Asynchronous Meeting #1:

 Ss continue working on the reading comprehension Nutrition Facts.  They should be ready for the class discussion in the next class.

Synchronous Meeting #2:

Tch. Will start the class by providing feedback to the class about the reading Nutrition Facts, students should support the answer they selected and share their point of view about the reading.

Ss should check the presentation about gerunds and infinitives and practice the verbs provided for each category.  They should take notes in case they have questions in order to clarify them the next class.

Tongue twister challenge # 2.

TALKING TIME: The topic of the week is emotions. The chosen students should talk for around one minute about their emotions.


Synchronous Meeting #1:

In this meeting the class will start by an assessment about gerund and infinities, this will be done on the platform EDUCA (test, unit 6 vocabulary). Students who do not have the platform should work on their workbooks point 1 pg.48. The evidence of it should be uploaded to drive. This activity will take around 15 minutes.

 -As a second activity the class has to analyze some information provided about past sequence events.

Taking into account the information shared by the Tch in the previous class about past sequence events, students have to organize some events based on the information of the point 1 on page 84.

They will receive feedback about the activity done in the previous asynchronous meeting.  Ss should spot the differences between Present Perfect and Past Simple, for this activity they will analyze the grammar box of pg. 82 and the Tch will use extra resources to help the class to understand better this topic.

 -Ss will receive feedback about the activities done in the previous class. After clarifying Ss doubts, the tch will explain to them what a timeline is and how it can be used to talk about events that took place in the past. Guidance- Ss book point 3 pg. 85.

 In this meeting tch will start the class by asking Ss some questions projected on the screen. Those questions are related to the WH-QUESTIONS in Past Perfect Tense. With this activity Tch. enhances Ss participation toward answering questions related to real-life situations placed in a specific time moment. Then, the Tch. will check Ss knowledge about the grammar box on pg. 86.  The class continues with the practice time: Ss book pg. 86, point 5 and 6

 Ss will devote time to the reading task called Why Is Technology Important Today? As soon as they finish the reading the upload the evidence to Google Drive in their 4th Term Folder.

After being 1 week without academic activities Ss will start recalling the different activities done in the previous week before going to recess. For working on this they will play a game in Kahoot.  In this new session, Ss will continue practicing their reading skills by working on a second reading task “Reflection about modern technology”. Ss should focus their attention on the reading steps on pg. 88, during this session we will work on points 1 and 2

The class will share their points of view about the reading assigned, they will have the opportunity to set their opinions related to each aspect that integrate the reading task. After it, the whole-class should work on points 5 and 6 on pg. 90. The tch will guide the activity

 Ss should work on groups of 5 and analyze some websites related to the use of technology, each group will have a specific topic and website to visit. Each team member should check the information about it and get ready for the coming week activity that is the creation of a story based on the information found.

CLASS PLAN WEEK 7

Synchronous Meeting #1:

 Ss should share with the rest of the class the most relevant aspects they have found about the topic that was assigned in the previous session. Each group will have 5 minutes for the intervention.  The teacher will give them the feedback needed to continue with the final part of the session and will explain to them the next steps required for the group project. Ss should start working on this hour together, the Tch will use Breakout rooms in Zoom to monitor the activity.

 Asynchronous Meeting #1:

Ss should continue working on the final product  of the communicative task for presenting the next class, they have to take into account the information provided on the website and the conclusions that they draw after discussing together the most important points that should be included in the short presentation.

Synchronous Meeting #2:

 Class presentations about modern technology and its implications.

 Asynchronous Meeting #2:

 Ss should work on the Educa platform activities related to reading, vocabulary, and grammar.

 Synchronous Meeting #3:

 The class will watch a documentary about Social Media Dilemma, they have to take notes if needed to work on the asynchronous activity based on it.

 Asynchronous Meeting #3:

 Ss should create an interactive image by being them the models in which they express their point of view about the documentary and support their opinions using real information or what they have done in their particular case to face situations such as the ones presented on it.  The picture should be uploaded to drive at the end of the session.
